Frequently asked questions

Are my files really never uploaded?

Yes. Conversion, compression, PDF tools and OCR run on your device with JavaScript, WebAssembly and browser APIs.

Why is a format unavailable in my browser?

Some media formats depend on browser and operating-system codecs. LocalFileLab explains the limitation instead of quietly sending your file to a server.

Is there a file-size limit?

There is no upload limit. Very large files can still exceed your device's available memory.

For the best results, use a current browser version.
